Case Report of a 3D Q-Data Project: Skilled Birth Deliveries in Bali DHS
This case report describes the use of 3D Q-Data to assess the quality of skilled birth deliveries in Bali, Cameroon. 3D Q-Data is a new method for collecting and analyzing data on the quality of health care services. It uses three-dimensional video recordings of health care encounters to capture the full range of interactions between providers and patients. This data can then be analyzed to identify areas where quality can be improved.
In this study, 3D Q-Data was used to collect data on 100 skilled birth deliveries in Bali. The data was analyzed to identify factors that were associated with high-quality deliveries. The results showed that the most important factors were the provider's communication skills, the provider's knowledge of childbirth, and the provider's ability to provide emotional support to the mother.
The findings of this study suggest that 3D Q-Data can be a valuable tool for assessing the quality of skilled birth deliveries. The data can be used to identify areas where quality can be improved and to develop interventions to improve quality.
In addition to the findings mentioned above, the study also found that the following factors were associated with high-quality deliveries:
- The provider's use of evidence-based practices
- The provider's ability to create a calm and supportive environment
- The provider's ability to address the mother's concerns
The findings of this study have important implications for the improvement of skilled birth deliveries in Bali and other settings. The use of 3D Q-Data can help to identify areas where quality can be improved and to develop interventions to improve quality. This can lead to better health outcomes for mothers and babies.
