Apr 22nd 2026

eBASE Africa joined the ROSIE Peer Learning Visit in Kampala, Uganda, on 21 and 22 April 2026, a two-day convening on scaling education data innovation in Africa. The Brookings Institution's ROSIE (Research on Scaling the Impact of Innovations in Education) team hosted, with support from the Global Partnership for Education Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (GPE KIX) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).

The meeting brought together four Africa-based grantees: APHRC, leading KIX-SEEDS (Strengthening and Enhancing Education Data Systems); Mizizi Elimu Afrika, leading the Unlocking Data Initiative (UDI); CAMFED Tanzania; and Educate! Rwanda. eBASE attended as UDI's implementing partner in Cameroon, alongside fellow UDI partners CERT at the University of Malawi, ESSA, and EdTech Hub.

Over the two days, teams refined their scaling outputs, exchanged cross-cohort learning, and took part in a capacity-building session on writing high-quality scaling documents. The Brookings ROSIE team will review the outputs and explore joint publications with the grantees.

Kampala follows the peer learning visit hosted by Educate! Rwanda and the Dakar Convening of January 2026. Claude Fotso represented eBASE.
