eBASE Africa and Cochrane Cameroon Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Strengthen Evidence-Informed Health Decision-Making

On 16 July 2026, eBASE Africa and Cochrane Cameroon signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Yaounde Central Hospital, Cameroon. The MoU marks the beginning of a strategic partnership to strengthen the production, translation, and use of evidence for health decision-making in Cameroon and across Francophone Africa. 

The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration in evidence synthesis, knowledge translation, scientific communication, capacity strengthening, stakeholder engagement, and research implementation. It also supports the joint development of research and evidence synthesis projects, the co-production of policy-relevant knowledge products, and training and mentorship for researchers, practitioners, and decision-makers. 

Under the MoU, both organisations commit to integrating gender, equity, and inclusion into research and implementation, advancing work on climate and health, mobilising resources for joint initiatives, and strengthening collaboration across their national and international networks. 

By leveraging their complementary expertise, eBASE Africa and Cochrane Cameroon aim to strengthen the evidence ecosystem and support more evidence-informed health policies and programmes in Cameroon and across Francophone Africa.
